To pipette samples from the 15 mL conical tubes requires the pipette shaft to reach into the vessel. This is a major contamination concern for all application where sterility or absence of contaminants is important, e.g., cell culture passaging, PCR master mixes or RNA purification. The Eppendorf Tube 5.0 mL due to its low height prevents the pipette shaft from getting in contact with the tube.
